cards from Etsy

It seems to me that a lot of people have an ignorantly heightened sense of their own worth and are more than willing to toss that arrogance into other’s faces. Somewhere along the way it seems that propriety and basic courtesy has been made extinct, replaced by bitchiness and fundamental rudeness.

Case in point, the cards seen here. I came across them on a website where the writer was quite impressed with their existence and lamented not having had these to pass out to the apparent hordes of unworthy folk teeming about her vying for her friendship and recognition (via that bastion of relational reality Facebook). I have to ask though, who is worse, the person who has been deemed unworthy or the person who is rude and pompous enough to pass on such a classless card to avoid a little friend request on a “social” networking site?

I don’t find these particularly clever; they seem like something bitchy but not very witty high school girls would shove into each others lockers. I suppose if someone handed me one of these it would at least immediately clarify for me the type of person THEY were, thereby saving me any further trouble dealing with them as clearly they have not matured past this high school mentality.

I cannot imagine any professional person actually handing these out, or any man for that matter, but I suppose overall these shouldn’t surprise me given that the average twenty something woman these days seems to think that Gossip Girl is some sort of behavioral guide.
