not many people realize this
until it’s too late
and nothing tastes worse
than regret
and the realization that you made a mistake

it’s a peculiar thing
this ability to see the right thing when it doesn’t matter anymore
apologies are easier than doing the right thing when it counts
or even better
ignore your missteps
altogether
