here's a shocker, there was trouble at the Toronto Pot Rally, someone pulled a gun, no really?

I thought it would just be a bunch of hippies dancing around beating drums and throwing flowers at each other, I mean they are the only people who smoke up, right? RIGHT.

People can't honestly be surprised by this. Are you that freaking Naive? Now don't get me wrong, I have NO issues with pot whatsoever. NONE. Believe me. But I'm not so clueless that I believe it cures all woes, removes all violence, pacifies the inner beast. It's a MYTH people that all pot smokers are peace and love and rainbows. One of the nastier people I've ever known was beyond chronic. For real. And don't forget, it IS still illegal and with that comes dealers. They have a "business" to run and most don't really give a crap about bongos and bongs, OK? With dealers can come violence, fundamental basic fact, were you born yesterday?

Then there is just the simple fact that if you get a large group of people together, things can and often do go wrong. People disagree. People fight. People can be (big shocker) violent. SIMPLE, BASIC FACT.

Do what you will, I know I do. But once you become a naive idealist around ANYTHING, you are asking for trouble and you'll likely get it.

DO I think it should be legal? Sure, I don't think it's any worse than alchohol and in some ways might be better. But that's a whole different story.

Now take your pot home and keep it to yourself, that's what I would do. The majority of the people at these rallies are NOT furthering any sort of cause that I can see, but you sure do look stupid and aimless waving your joint at the tv camera and spinning around like a retard.
