so don't know, am I supposed to do some sort of birthday reflection type post today? O.K. I will... accompanied by my rather terrible phone photos because I am too lazy to set up my proper camera to take my picture (thus also explaining the lack of body shots and the cheesy "MySpace" quality of them).



you know, 42 doesn't feel much different than 22, I don't have any particular aches and pains that I didn't have then, if anything my face is better because I don't have the remnants of babyfat I had then (ha, babyfat! It was college pig-out, drinking fat!) and I've been fortunate to so far be wrinkle-free. I suppose the boobs aren't quite as perky as they once were (although I'm not sure they were ever).



so these are the stupid things that women are almost universally concerned with as they age. Yet I can't help but to not really care. I mean, it's going to happen, we all get old unless we die first. I'm pretty content with the whole package so far. As far as where my life is at... well that is a slightly different story. I could be doing better than I am, but I think I'm poised to do o.k. I've made a lot of bad choices the past couple of decades but better late than never to use a sorry ass cliché.



most importantly, I feel no particular pressure to stop acting the way I want to. I've always thought that once you start behaving a certain way because you've reached a certain age and society expects certain things from you, you've had it. That's one of the quickest ways to seem old.
