so yes, did a little more abandoned place photography this past weekend, this time an abandoned farm. I don't think there's much on TV today...

the barn was really dark and I hadn't brought my tripod, so it was a little difficult to get any clear shots. I'm definitely going back to redo this part.

I really love the way buildings and machinery age and weather, even though it's a bit sad at the same time.

for some reason this door looked sort of fantastical to me, like something from a fairy tale.

you could tell there must have been joy in this old place once; someone had painted a very vivid daisy right in the window frame!

sadly though, it seems it's been a long time since anyone called this home or cared about the place.

I tried to imagine a little table by this window, breakfast and birds singing....

the barn was a little spooky... lots of birds and animals were rustling around and the lighting was moody.

so there you go, that's only a small portion of the photos I took, and that's how I spent my Easter vacation. I hope I get a good mark on this report!

Where DO you find these places? They remind me of abandoned farmhouses I would see in south Texas in the '70s ... and of great swathes of current day Michigan.

It's surprising how many of these places we find just driving around Ontario actually... this one we pass several times a month so we finally decided to stop and check it out!

that TV photo would make a really cool poster or album cover!

Great photos. Abandoned places always make me sad, and try to think of who might have lived there. And why they left.

it's true, I always feel a little sad in these places too... sometimes you can tell that they left really quickly...
