gotta say, I had a really good sleep last night courtesy of Ativan. I hate to say it, but sometimes you need a little help and I deserve it, it has been YEARS since I've fallen asleep and stayed asleep minus butterflies in the stomach, potential panic attacks, restlessness etc. Brilliant really, I can pretty much say I didn't know bedtime could be like that.
5 dirty hippies blowing your mind:
Ativan was the sleep aid Jamie Tennant was on for a while and had a HELL of a time coming off of. Apparently prolonged use of it has severe withdrawal effects that last a very long time. Message him and ask, or Google it yourself. Seriously, I think coming off it *induces* anxiety and panic attacks, which from the sounds of it does not sound like your slice of pie ...
Oh yes, I'm quite familiar with Ativan actually... Don't intend to use it every day or even for an extended period of time, it's something you have to come off of gradually if you use it that way to be sure. I've also got some Clonazepam for the same issues and realize all the problems that can accompany these drugs.
Yeah, I've had anxiety issues for years and been prescribed a gazillion (sometimes inappropriate) things. I've been prescribed things that make me feel CARAZZY!! Ativan in the dosage I'm using is comparatively tame to some of the nonsense I've been subjected to!
I've had insomnia before, its terrible. I've only ever tried the stuff you can buy at the drugstore though. It worked ok.
Sometimes exercising or even just going for a walk in the evening helps. It's good to avoid late night snacks too.
I just drink til I pass out, works every time.
