here i am in one of my more parent-friendly versions. Did those earrings destroy my ear lobes? You know it.

so yeah back in high school I used to dress like a fool, you know all that black crap and my hair was every day-glo colour imaginable, my parents weren’t thrilled and sometimes they’d make me stay home from school until I coloured over the hot pink or blue or whatever it was that day (nice punishment, they were doing me a huge favour actually). I fucking hated high school and I fucking hated the town that I went to high school in and I never felt like I belonged. I know, old story, older than time or something like that, but all these people were like best friends forever in this stupid little town that actually… is close enough to Toronto that these people shouldn’t have been such retarded hicks but they were… anyway….super different to Montreal, but I tried to fit in, whatever this is getting off topic and I don’t care.

Anyway, it’s true, the jocks actually do like the weird girls… because the jocks are fucking weirdos too although in a totally different way… but super boring most of them from spending year after year trying to be as fucking normal and acceptable as possible…but I fucked one of them at lunch time a few times because…well actually I don’t really know why, he was good looking I guess, sure but NOT my type at all… I think on some level it amused me that I was his dirty little secret and It gave me some power to know that this stupid, popular oh so acceptable fool wanted me. Anyway, he was a crap lay, he doesn’t know this but a few of us girls gave him the nickname Minute Man (oh right, of course one or two of my friends did him as well)…. fuck, high school is weird. (you know, if some of those high school people found this out today, they'd STILL gossip about it, lame!)

I still have some minute man comments in one of my year books.

Well at least you still have all the hair you used to. Some of us aren't that lucky.

And I've always thought that 60s/70s/80s yearbook photos were hilarious in a much more interesting way than 90s ones. Those were still funny, but in an infinitely boring way.

Or maybe that's just my yearbook photo. Oh well.

I was a "weirdo" too but I never liked the jocks, still don't. I was more of a polyester/hippie weirdo, less of a Goth weirdo, but I had the cynicism of a Goth, fer shure.

Do you still have those earrings? Somewhere I have the massive hoops I used to wear in junior high. I keep everything, it's ridiculous.

I don't sadly... Can't even remember what became of them.
