Countdown to Road Trip

In three short days I will be in my hometown, my real hometown for the first time in eons. Do I have the right understanding of what a hometown is? To me, it's where you were born, where you come from. How can it be anything but? Sure, I suppose people can adopt hometowns, find new places that they love and settle into and call their hometown, but if you weren't born there, it can't really be, right?

Anyway, my home town is Montreal and I am looking forward to being there. I often wonder what my life would have been like if we had not moved. Anyway, it will be a quick over-nighter en route to Grand Manan New Brunswick, which is my mother's home town, although it's not really a town, it's just a wee island out in the Bay of Fundy with a population of around 2500. I love it there too, you can't beat it for relaxation, outdoor adventuring and just plain gorgeousness. Of course, I speak from a very touristy point of view as the other reality is it is a hard place to live and make a living, you can basically fish or die and sometimes (lots of the time) the fishing doesn't provide an adequate income. There is lots for sale out there. So that part is sad.

On the way home we will do an over-night in Quebec City, another place I haven't been to since oh, probably the late seventies! How crazy is that?

I can't wait for all the good food and the amazing ambience and atmosphere of each of these places.

I'll be taking lots I mean LOTS of photos and I think I'll probably share a few with ya'll.
