When I was in grade seven and eight there were a few things that were super popular. For example:
1. erasers in the shapes of things. The ones I had that were my favourite were the VW Beetles. Like this:
and they always had the best smell to them!
2. Decorated shoe laces. I had some with rainbows and I had ladybugs too that looked pretty much exactly like these!
3. fuzzy top pencils. I don't know why these were popular, they were ugly. I guess they were fun to spin out the hair on?
well, those are the first three that come to mind. I also had a massive sticker collection (puffy and googly eyes traded highest!) but I think that was something that carried on for decades, wasn't it?
7 dirty hippies blowing your mind:
LOL, we made those pencil things at camp when I was a kid!
They were ugly, but they kept you entertained during school.
we used to take wooden clothespins and fasten playing cards to our bike spokes ... they made the best sound, especially when you sped up!
you know, we did this as kids but you never see kids doing this now. maybe because they never go outside anymore, or if they do their parents are too scared to let them go past the end of their street.
and somehow taping a pokomon chip to your Wii controller just doesn't have the same zing, does it?
I fully remember all of these things. Nostalgia trip!
I remember kids putting the cards in the bike spokes! I hardly ever see kids riding bikes anymore but I do live downtown so that explains that I guess.
my sister must have had about 10 of those pencils at least.
i only used pens
