Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

I'm still reading the Marilyn Monroe book. Honestly, it's fascinating. I've finally reached the part where she is starting to make her way in Hollywood, I wonder if things have changed all that much even now?

She apparently admits that she slept with a few people to get (very small) roles. I suppose the whole studio system was different then, where you would put under contract for a specific studio, so strange, I can see though
how that could be used to coerce a young woman with dreams of stardom to do things she might otherwise not do.

Her biggest fear was that she was going to go crazy, as many in her family showed distinct signs of Schizophrenia and mental illness in general.

Also, which book is it you're reading? I'm super interested in MM and might pick it up.

It's the secret life of Marilyn Monroe by J. Randy Taraborrelli. If you look down a few posts there's a pic of the cover posted!
