Hello Thursday

Today I'll try to wrap up the photo taking at work.  Incredibly boring, taking photos of products, especially when those products are valves and bolts and various cans of sprays.  Some people make careers out of this sort of thing, I think it would be like the accounting job of the photography world.

I only have two lights, so the lighting conditions are not ideal, although I suppose they are better than if I had no photo specific lighting at all, I shouldn't complain, I think if I had any resolutions, accepting things as they come and not complaining would be tops.  I don't make resolutions though, so that allows for the odd whine session (wine session, speaking of wine, there are several bottles at home, funny, we actually have a bar of sorts now, like real grown ups).

Now that we are on the other side of Christmas I feel like it is more realistic to really think about the summer vacation I want to have this year.  As I've mentioned before, I want to drive through the Smoky Mountains in the U.S. and hit up as many kooky little spots as possible, nutty photo ops!  Polaroid fake retro shots!

Santa's Village?(Ideally I'd like to go to the one I went to as a kid but a. I can't remember exactly where that is and b.I think it's not really on the route I'm planning and C. what are the chances it still exists after 30 or so years? I'm going to track it down, it has to be Vermont or Maine *it was New Hampshire and it's still there!)

Frontiertown? (oh NO it's been closed and although these photo ops are right up my alley, how depressing to see it when you have good memories of being there as a child.)

Heritage U.S.A.!! ( by now you should know  I'm hot for abandoned places and this is a weeeyeird one that I HAVE to see!)

I like to be spontaneous but I don't think I'll really have the time to just hit the road and go, so a little planning might be in order.  I can't wait to start plotting out a course.
