Made this cake on the weekend, probably should have taken a photo before it got all cut up like this, ah well, it looks pretty nice when you cut into it, gets a few "oohs" from the crowd.
Also had some really excellent chocolate cake at a friend's, did you know that you can put sauerkraut in chocolate cake and it sort of disappears but makes the cake super, SUPER moist? True story. I'm definitely going to do that next time I make a chocolate cake (ha, that could be never, I can't remember the last time I made a chocolate cake, I'm a vanilla fan myself).
Champagne gives me a headache (sparkling wine, whatever you want to call it, I'm aware of the rules but it's sort of like Kleenex or Jello of Q-tips, right?) and I confirmed that I don't even really like the stuff.

It's quite time consuming, at least I found it was as I only have one really good cake pan and wanted to do every layer in it, so man...it took 3 hours to bake all the layers.
If you are a bit of a perfectionist then you'll want to measure out the batter for each layer too...I did pretty well at getting them the same size except for the orange layer...it's a bit thick! I got a bit maniacal about getting the layers the exact shade I wanted too. But, it is pretty satisfying when it's all done!
