Here's a little tour of my youth, Part 1, probably more interesting to me than to you but anyway, thanks Google maps for letting me spy on my past!
I lived here when I was in grade 4 & 5. This is in Beaconsfield, Quebec. I can't remember which window was mine, you know what, I can't even remember what my room looked like, is that weird? I think that's weird. Anyway, we had a rust corduroy and chrome sofa in this house. Also, an 8-track. There was a climbable tree in the backyard (when kids could climb trees without mass hysteria) and we used to play a game called Sardines in the neighbourhood. Do you guys know that game or was that a Quebec thing? I really don't know.
The tree doesn't look like I remember. It doesn't look very climbable either. That door on the right? I still have 2 scars on my left hand from putting it through the glass accidentally.
I liked living here. I have great memories of this neighbourhood. In fact, this one really arouses stomach churning waves of nostalgia in me.I'm fairly certain this house was green when we lived there though.
Hey guys, I used to live there too! I think I showed you this one before. I remember my room really well here. I lived here for Grade 6-8. My room was plastered with horse stuff. I made horse scrapbooks, horse art and it was really everywhere. I had a canopy bed here. I remember making tapes on an old tape recorder right off the radio. I remember that Another Brick in the Wall was #1 on Montreal radio in 1980. Diana Ross's Upside Down was in the top 3-5 as well. Why and how do I remember this?
Across the street was a park. It had tennis in the summer and a skating rink in the winter (and still does!) and my room faced it, so I always had something to watch, at least until the big lights went out later at night. I have good memories here too. And then we moved to Ontario. Sigh. How can I be 42 years old and still semi-bitter about that?
OK. Maybe I'll continue this later.
