Sunshine and Texture

lovely sunny day, raises the spirits a bit. Not enough hours in the day to get all the living done though.

The initial photo transfer to canvas turned out to not be a complete failure; there was transfer action however my initial feeling was correct, the stretched canvas cannot take the pressure necessary to really get a good transfer happening. Having said that, it looks pretty cool when it works. Still need to pick up some new canvas, will try to get to it tonight.  I'm waiting on some special paper so that I can do coasters and such, impatient.

Good sign in my fitness goals, my clothes are getting loose, the size 10 stuff is borderline unflattering large. I'm glad most of my favourite items are not size specific (the ponchos etc.)

I have a lot of pent-up energy today, I feel like running, GAH, hurry up warmer days I need to sleep in a tent and hike a trail and light a campfire, NEED.

We have rediscovered Yahtzee and will probably play it a lot until it loses it warm sheen (ha Sheen) for awhile again but really, is there a game that is easier to play AND also satisfying?  I don't think so.  I think we have at least 3 versions of Yahtzee, yes, we do plus 2 at the cottage.  That's sad isn't it.

I think I'm going to run a copy of this to transfer and then paint over it with acrylics to give it a bit more punch as well as some texture, you know to make it look like I painted it when of course I am a terrible painter. Or maybe it would be better to do the texture by mixing up some acrylic heavy gel and acrylic modeling paste and going over the lines of the image then painting...hmm...that could be a BIG project. Anyway, texture for this one is definitely key.  I really want to emphasize the variations of light on the water in this one, the sky co-operated very nicely that day.

I would love to do some photos of people, you know, costumes and glorious outdoor settings and surreal scenarios...why can't Liz or Krista live nearby, I KNOW they'd be more than game to take part!

that's right girrrrl. my costumes are MUCH more fun with someone else (my dogs don't tolerate wigs). sunny self-portraits = yes!

I like where you're going with the photo/painting mash-up.
